Over a decade ago, Dr. Johnson’s passion for supervision and ethical practice led her to create CCFAM Training, as a continuing education provider focused on ethics and supervision. Currently, we are launching Play Therapy Training Resources to house all of our play therapy trainings and resources for play therapy professionals.
The mission of CCFAM Training is providing a Lasting impact, Equipping professionals and offering Diverse resources (LED) through Training, Supervision, Coaching, and Consultation to light the way for the next generation of mental health professionals.
Dr. Johnson is the owner of The Center for Counseling and Family Relationships, a large group private practice, established in 2007. She is an LPC-S and LMFT-S, who has supervised Associates since 2007 both individually and in groups. She has provided supervision for supervisees within her practice, for those outside of her practice, and for supervisees with multiple sites including non-profits, community agencies, adoption agencies, and churches.
Dr. Johnson began Center for Counseling and Family Relationships Training in 2012 with a Board Approved LPC/LMFT Supervisor Training. Her own experiences in supervision and as a supervisor led her to become passionate about providing resources for supervisors to help their supervisees grow personally and professionally, as well as being fully knowledgeable of the Board Rules and Regulations. She has been leading Texas Ethics courses throughout the state of Texas since 2012 for counseling associations, agencies, hospitals, and private groups. Dr. Johnson enjoys leading the Supervisor Refresher as past participants continue to come back through to stay up to date on the most current supervision knowledge. In 2017, Dr. Johnson created a Ready and Set to Go! Play Therapy Supervision Training that is APT Approved.
She incorporates her knowledge as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, EMDR Consultant, Trust Based Relational Intervention Practitioner for working with children who have been internationally adopted, adopted domestically, and for children in foster care, and as a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, when counseling clients, working with supervisees, and in her trainings. Dr. Johnson began her counseling career in hospitals, community agencies, and nursing homes and transitioned into a private practice setting in 1999.
"Thank you for being so well organized to touch on the significance of both the client's experiences as well as the counselor's life experiences. Thank you for tying in connections between physiological and mental/emotional developments. And thank you for the numerous demonstrations of engagement strategies - very practical and empowering way to train attendees."
"The session was very informative and provided me with a lot of takeaways to use with clients."
“Excellent job! Thank you! I’m excited to try some of the techniques you taught and research further with the resources you provided.”
Rhonda's coaching helped me to begin thinking like a business owner who happens to be a practicing therapist, something that is not taught to us in graduate schools. I feel like I have more security in my business practices having taken her coaching program.
"You have made such a great effort to include these resources which make your supervision course an incredible value!! I have talked to other professionals about their experience in supervision training and it does not seem to compare! Thank you for working so hard to make sure we have what we need."
"I thought the research was current and very relevant in today’s world. The suggestions for ourselves and clients for managing screens were also helpful."
"She really dissected the complexity of the relationship and gave tools to foster a productive supervisory relationship."
"What I liked most about the training was learning all the different activities to incorporate into supervision and getting ideas on how board supervision can be different from RPT supervision."
“She took things step by step of how you start with an Intern, shared your resources available- assessment and forms- while sharing your experiences."
“I liked the activities provided to use with supervisees.”
“I like the ideas given in the manual on conducting supervision sessions.”
“I liked having to look through the rules for the information.”
"This was a good training! It was very challenging and a great refresher. I will share with my LPC friends!"
