Build a strong foundation for competent, ethical, and intentional clinical supervision. Through the ARC Integrative Supervision Model, you’ll develop practical supervision skills that prepare you to supervise with confidence while meeting the educational requirements for the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential.
Description
This comprehensive 45-hour foundation clinical supervisor training prepares clinicians to provide effective, ethical, and developmentally appropriate supervision and meets the requirements for those seeking the Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) credential through NBCC.
Participants will develop the ability to assess supervisee needs, select appropriate supervisory interventions, and respond to relational, cultural, and systemic factors that influence supervision. The training emphasizes building effective supervisory relationships, supporting supervisee development, and applying structured supervision practices across clinical settings, including individual, group, and technology-assisted supervision.
Participants learn and apply the ARC Integrative Supervision Model (Assessment, Response, Context), a structured decision-making framework that is integrated throughout the training alongside major supervision theories and approaches.
The training includes key components of supervision practice such as onboarding, documentation, evaluation, remediation, and ethical decision-making, with a focus on real-world application.
By the end of the training, participants will be equipped to implement a structured supervision process and apply supervision concepts with clarity, confidence, and intentionality.
Why would I want to become an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) With NBCC?
An advantage of the Clinical Supervisor is that it is a credential that signifies the quality of training you received as a national credential which may be accepted in more than one state. Like any credential, it shows that certain requirements were met, and NBCC is a nationally recognized organization.
