Description
This advanced clinical supervision training is designed for clinicians who have completed foundational clinical supervision training and are seeking to strengthen their ability to integrate culture, values, identity, and context into supervisory decision-making. While foundational supervision training introduces the importance of contextual awareness, this course explores how contextual factors influence supervisory decision-making across assessment, communication, feedback, evaluation, and intervention, providing practical strategies for integrating these influences through the ARC Integrative Supervision Model (Assessment, Response, Context).
Effective supervision requires more than applying the same supervisory approach in every situation. Culture, personal and professional values, identity, life experiences, organizational systems, and differing perspectives all influence supervisory decision-making. Supervisors who intentionally recognize and integrate these contextual influences are better equipped to make sound supervisory decisions that strengthen the supervisory relationship, support supervisee development, and promote equitable, ethical, and effective client care.
Participants will apply the ARC Integrative Supervision Model through case consultation, guided reflection, realistic supervision scenarios, and practical decision-making exercises that strengthen their ability to assess contextual influences, adapt supervisory responses, and navigate differences in culture, values, identity, and perspective across diverse supervision situations.
Learning Objectives
1. Analyze how culture, values, identity, life experiences, and contextual factors influence supervisory interactions, communication, and decision-making to strengthen supervisee development and support quality client care.
2. Apply the ARC Integrative Supervision Model (Assessment, Response, Context) to assess contextual influences and adapt supervisory responses across diverse supervision situations.

Dr. Rhonda Johnson is the founder and owner of the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships (CCFAM), a large and thriving group practice established in 2007 that specializes in family systems and trauma-informed care. She is also the founder of CCFAM Training, launched in 2011, which provides continuing education designed to support therapists across the lifespan of their careers. In 2021, she founded Play Therapy Training Resources, offering specialized continuing education to support play therapists at every stage of their professional journey.
