BIO

Dr. Rhonda Johnson is the founder and owner of the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships, a thriving group practice established in 2007, as well as CCFAM Training and Play Therapy Training Resources. Through these organizations, she provides continuing education and consultation to clinicians across the country.

She has spent nearly two decades supervising therapists in a wide range of settings, from private practice to hospitals, adoption agencies, and church-based counseling environments. That breadth of experience shapes trainings that are grounded in research but consistently tied back to the realities clinicians face day to day. Rather than focusing on theory alone, she equips participants with tools and systems they can put to use immediately.

A defining element of her work is the integration of Christian faith with sound clinical practice. Dr. Johnson guides clinicians in approaching faith-informed counseling and supervision with both care and ethical responsibility, helping them remain aligned with professional standards while engaging their values with intention.

Her philosophy of supervision developed out of a recognition that case consultation, by itself, often falls short. As a result, her trainings emphasize self-awareness and the relational dynamics that influence clinical work, creating space for clinicians to reflect on their own experiences while continuing to grow in skill and confidence.

In addition to her clinical and supervisory work, Dr. Johnson brings the perspective of a long-time practice owner. She understands the demands of leadership and speaks to those realities with clarity, offering guidance shaped by experience rather than theory alone. She has published multiple resources on the topic, including Pace Setter, a collection of lessons learned through her leadership in the private practice field.

Participants can expect a training experience that is thoughtful, well-structured, and directly applicable to their work, whether they are developing as clinicians, stepping into supervision, or leading within their organizations.
