“I’m not getting through to them.”
“They just don’t get it.”
“They don’t remember anything I tell them.”
Ugh.
If you’ve ever caught yourself saying one of these things about a client, you’re not alone.
Therapy is multifaceted — or at least it should be. While talk therapy is a powerful and foundational modality, sometimes words alone aren’t enough. This engaging training explores how integrating visuals and diagrams into your sessions can deepen insight, increase retention, and create meaningful breakthroughs.
Research suggests that a significant portion of communication is nonverbal, and many people process information most effectively through visual means. So what might we be missing when we rely solely on conversation?
In this interactive and practical workshop, participants will not only learn the power and importance of enhancing their therapy sessions creatively, they will also learn what to consider, where to start, and what could work for them!
You’ll see real examples successfully used in therapy, explore creative applications, and have time to begin developing your own tools to take back to session immediately. This isn’t about replacing talk therapy — it’s about amplifying it.
Let’s just say… after this training, you’ll have plenty to DRAW from.

Jody Scott Jones did not begin his career in counseling, and that broader path still shapes how he teaches today. Because he has worked in both corporate and pastoral settings, he brings a grounded, real-world perspective to the way he teaches. He is EMDR certified and has advanced training in integrative mental health and nutrition, giving him a practical understanding of how brain, body, and behavior work together.
Jody has led trainings for clinicians, churches, and community groups, often focusing on trauma, relationships, and emotional health. He is known for his authenticity, steady presence, and well-placed humor. He tends to think in patterns more than prescriptions, helping others understand what is happening beneath the surface rather than rushing to quick answers. He also developed the Ebb and Flow framework, a relational model that explores how people think, relate, and respond under pressure, and how meaningful change takes place.
He currently serves in leadership and supervision roles while continuing to train and equip others. His work is driven by a simple idea: when people understand the “why” behind their patterns, they are far better equipped to move forward with intention.
