Description
Are you up to date on the latest ethics, regulatory, and practice changes affecting Texas mental health professionals? This training reviews significant updates from the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC) and the LPC, LMFT, and Social Work boards, highlighting commonly misunderstood requirements and areas that frequently contribute to complaints.
Using state licensing rules, codes of ethics, board guidance, practical scenarios, and an interactive Q&A format, participants will learn how current and proposed regulations impact professional relationships, informed consent, documentation, records, supervision, advertising, telehealth practices, and day-to-day clinical decision making. Participants will leave with practical strategies to reduce risk, strengthen ethical practice, and apply current regulations to common clinical situations.
Resources Included: A comprehensive summary of significant Texas ethics and rule changes from 2023-2026, highlighting major practice-impacting updates since 2020, along with current proposed rules.
Learning Objectives
1. Identify key updates to BHEC and board rules
2. Identify risk areas that result in complaints
3. Apply current regulations to common practice scenarios
