Addressing School Stressors: Tools School Counselors Can Utilize to Support Students

Description:

There are many school stressors that affect mental health for children and adolescents, and many times, the school counselor is the first person students go to seek support. While some students may need more help than what can be provided at school, there are many ways that school counselors can help students work through low these stressors, talk through how it is affecting them, and help them learn strategies that they can utilize at school. The goal of this training is to provide some tangible tools and exercises that school counselors can use when working with students struggling with school stressors.

Objectives:

    1. Identify and demonstrate 3-4 strategies or activities appropriate for use with students struggling with school stressors
