How are consultations offered?
We offer consultation face to face or by telehealth using doxy.me. All consultations are in CST zone
Who are consultations for?
EMDR consultations are for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge and practice competency in EMDR.
EMDR consultation is open to anyone who has completed the EMDR basic training. EMDR consultation is open to those who have completed the first weekend of EMDR Basic Training only if approved by the EMDR trainer. The consultations are provided between weekend one and weekend two of EMDR Basic Training.
Wanting to work towards becoming EMDR Certified?
15 of the 20 required consultation hours towards EMDRIA’s EMDR certification may be with a consultant in training. 10 of the total hours must be individual. 5 of the 20 hours must be with a EMDRIA Approved Consultant. All hours accrued towards EMDR Certification with EMDRIA must be done after the Basic Training certificate is received from an EMDRIA approved EMDR training is awarded.

EMDR Consultant Nik Johnson has experience working with populations aged 4-85, and specializes in using EMDR with children, individuals who experienced adoption, working with complex trauma survivors, and individuals experiencing dissociative disorders.

Nik Johnson

Nik has been a private practice counselor working in North Texas since 2017. He works with children aged (4+), adolescents, and adults, specializing in complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy. Previously Nik worked at an agency in Missouri providing play therapy to children in the foster care system. He offers continuing education to professionals especially within the topics of working with developmental trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy.
