DESCRIPTION:

This training will consist of 6 hours of supervision material as presenting through the following two lenses. When registered for this training, these two sub-courses will be added automatically to your profile to complete, and together they can be turned in to count for a 6-Hour course.

1. Ethical Decision-Making in Supervision

Clinical supervisors are responsible for protecting client welfare while supporting supervisee development and maintaining accountability for ethical practice, legal compliance, and professional standards. Decisions involving boundaries, informed consent, documentation, evaluation, confidentiality, competence, and risk management often require supervisors to balance multiple ethical and legal responsibilities while exercising sound professional judgment.

Participants will learn practical strategies for analyzing complex supervisory dilemmas, applying ethical and legal standards, reducing professional risk, and documenting supervisory decisions through case consultation, guided discussion, and applied supervision scenarios.

2. Delivering Corrective Feedback in Supervision

The training applies the ARC Integrative Supervision Model (Assessment, Response, Context) to corrective feedback conversations. Participants will learn to assess supervisee needs, select appropriate supervisory interventions, and integrate relational, developmental, cultural, and contextual factors into corrective feedback conversations. Emphasis is placed on balancing support with accountability to strengthen supervisee development, promote client welfare, and uphold professional responsibility.

Attention is given to common challenges in corrective feedback, including defensiveness, withdrawal, emotional distress, self-criticism, and avoidance of difficult conversations. Participants will develop practical strategies for structuring corrective feedback conversations, responding to challenging supervisee reactions, and implementing a consistent supervisory framework that strengthens supervisee performance and ultimately supports safe, ethical, and effective client care. Participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to conduct corrective feedback conversations with greater clarity, confidence, accountability, and intentionality.
