DESCRIPTION:

This advanced clinical supervision training is designed for clinicians who have completed foundational clinical supervision training and are seeking to strengthen their ability to apply ethical, legal, and professional standards to complex supervisory situations. Using the ACA Code of Ethics, applicable legal requirements, and the ARC Integrative Supervision Model (Assessment, Response, Context), participants will develop practical strategies for making intentional, ethically sound, and legally defensible supervisory decisions.

Clinical supervisors are responsible for protecting client welfare while supporting supervisee development and maintaining accountability for ethical practice, legal compliance, and professional standards. Decisions involving boundaries, informed consent, documentation, evaluation, confidentiality, competence, and risk management often require supervisors to balance multiple ethical and legal responsibilities while exercising sound professional judgment.

Participants will learn practical strategies for analyzing complex supervisory dilemmas, applying ethical and legal standards, reducing professional risk, and documenting supervisory decisions through case consultation, guided discussion, and applied supervision scenarios.
