BIO

Chris Covington, MS, LPC-S is an experiential therapist, supervisor, and trainer who has been practicing since 2010. His work centers on equine-assisted and adventure-based counseling, helping individuals and groups engage in the therapeutic process in ways that extend beyond the traditional office setting. Chris has spent his career developing and facilitating programs that integrate movement, environment, and relationship, creating opportunities for insight and growth through lived experience rather than observation alone.

His clinical background includes extensive work with youth navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance use, and behavioral challenges, as well as several years working with military veterans. Through his leadership at Trinity Challenge and prior roles in therapeutic riding centers and community programs, he has trained and collaborated with professionals across clinical, educational, and nonprofit settings. His approach is shaped by early work in adventure-based counseling and further developed through advanced training in equine-assisted therapy, where Gestalt and solution-focused perspectives inform his work.

Chris brings a direct, grounded presence to his trainings, emphasizing authenticity and adaptability in a shared learning environment. His teaching is informed by years of hands-on experience and a deep respect for the learning process, both that of clients and of clinicians. He is particularly passionate about equipping other professionals to confidently step into experiential models of care, offering a practical framework for those interested in expanding beyond traditional talk therapy.
