Description

This play therapy training is offered Live In-Person and Virtual via Zoom Platform. Looking for a training that provides you with all of the essentials to be a successful Play Therapy Supervisor? This workshop provides electronic resources to simplify documentation with the newest experience, supervision, and education requirements for your supervisees throughout the phases. The training combines Ready to Use Activities to start building positive Play Supervision Relationships and Play Therapy Activities to use in RPT supervision. Dr. Johnson will discuss the Play Therapy Developmental Model and its use in supervision. Participants are also given Ethical Paperwork and Play Therapy Evaluations needed for supervision in an electronic format.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify responsibilities of a play therapy supervisor and play therapy supervisee
  2. Describe presented activities used to build a positive play therapy supervision relationship
  3. Explain factors in the play supervision relationship that predict and affect the alliance
  4. List ethical paperwork needed for a play supervision relationship, including Informed Consent, Contract, Off-Site Supervision Release, Weekly Documentation Form, and Remediation Plan
  5. Discuss play therapy activity options to use in supervision 
  6. Select from evaluations to use in play therapy supervision

Part II: Ethics In Supervision

  • Supervision Contract
  • Consent to Video Recording
  • Custom Developed On-Site Supervisor Release and Acknowledgement of Supervisee Responsibilities (for Supervisees with multiple sites or a Supervisor who is not working at the Associate site)
  • Custom Developed Supervision Weekly Documentation Form for Supervisees (Keeps the Supervisor up-to-date on what the Supervisee implemented since the last supervision session, what needs to be addressed along with holding a Supervisee accountable for notes, treatment plans, call logs, and termination forms)
  • Custom Developed Supervision Logs
  • Evaluations including Custom Developed Evaluations to use in Supervision for both the Supervisee (for self, from supervisor, and for Supervisor) and for the Supervisor

Virtual Training Information. 

This workshop meets APT’s definition of “Live Webinar”

  • Per APT regulations your computer will need a camera for you to be visible throughout the entire training to receive the certificate.
  • A post-test will be required.
  • If you register for the Virtual Classroom training, make sure you have a good internet connection.
  • A Zoom link will be sent out the week of the training.
  • Please note that during the training we only take a short 30 min. lunch break and have a short break in the morning and the afternoon.

Dr. Rhonda Johnson

LPC-S, LMFT-S, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™, TBRI Practitioner, EMDR-Consultant in Training, CEAP, Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner in Training

She is the founder and owner of the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships, a large, thriving group practice that was established in 2007 and specializes in family systems and trauma-informed approaches. Dr. Johnson is also the founder and owner of CCFAM Training, established in 2012, offering a 40 CE supervision course and ethics courses. She is also the owner of Play Therapy Training Resources, established in 2021. Through those companies, she provides continuing education, supervision, and consultations. She is also a teaching fellow for B.H. Carroll Seminary.

Dr. Johnson has supervised Interns and Associates since 2007, both individually and in groups, as well as virtually and live. She has also provided supervision for supervisees within her practice, for those outside of her practice, and for supervisees with multiple sites including community agencies, adoption agencies, and churches.

CCFAM Training has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7105. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. CCFAM Training is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
