How are consultations offered?
We offer consultation face to face or by telehealth using doxy.me.
All consultations are in CST zone.
Who are consultations for?
EMDR consultations are for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge and practice competency in EMDR.
EMDR consultation is open to anyone who has completed the EMDR basic training.
EMDR consultation is open to those who have completed the first weekend of EMDR Basic Training only if approved by the EMDR trainer. The consultations are provided between weekend one and weekend two of EMDR Basic Training.

Wanting to work towards becoming EMDR Certified?
15 of the 20 required consultation hours towards EMDRIA’s EMDR certification may be with a consultant in training.
10 of the total hours must be individual.
5 of the 20 hours must be with a EMDRIA Approved Consultant.
All hours accrued towards EMDR Certification with EMDRIA must be done after the Basic Training certificate is received from an EMDRIA approved EMDR training is awarded.
What Makes Our Consultations Unique:
EMDR consultation through CCFAM is unique in that we use use the standard 8 phase protocol across the lifespan, with children in play therapy and with teens and adults.
Both Dr Johnson and Nik Johnson have attended trainings with Annie Monaco and Ann Beckley Forest, Robbie Adler-Tapia, Marshally Lyles, who specialize in using EMDR with children along with consultations with play therapists.
Dr. Johnson attended Basic Training and completed EMDR Certification through consulting with an EMDR Institute Approved Provider.
Nik Johnson specializes in using EMDR with Dissociative children, teens, and adults.
Nik Johnson, LPC, RPT, EMDR Consultant
Nik has been a private practice counselor at the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships since 2017. He works with children aged (4+), adolescents, and adults, specializing in complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy. Nik fully integrates EMDR into his play therapy practice. He offers continuing education to professionals especially within the topics of working with developmental trauma, dissociative disorders, and play therapy.
Nik’s individual rate is $100 per hour and group rate is $50 per hour.
Dr. Rhonda Johnson LPC-S, LMFT-S, RPT-S, EMDR Consultant, TBRI Practitioner, CEAP
Dr. Johnson is the owner of a large group private practice, the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships, which was established in 2007. Dr. Johnson has been working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in private practice since 1999. She became a TBRI Practitioner in 2011 for her specialty of working with children who have been adopted domestically or internationally, children in state foster care, and children who have experienced trauma. She is also an EMDR Consultant in Training and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Training. Dr. Johnson has a personal story of experiencing infertility and being an adoptive parent, which allows her to bring a multidimensional perspective to working with children and families who have adoption as part of their stories. She is also the owner of CCFAM Training, established in 2012, specializing as a Live, Virtual, and Online CE provider with a focus on supervision, Texas Ethics, play therapy, and children who have experienced trauma. Through CCFAM Training, Dr. Johnson also provides private practice coaching and consulting for mental health professionals in leadership and supervisory roles, as well as supervision for Texas LPC and LMFT supervisees, as well as for the RPT credential. She is also a teaching Fellow for B.H. Carroll Seminary.
