Description:

COVID has launched many play therapy practices into using Teleplay as a way of continuing sessions with children and their parents. This training will cover interventions to use in Teleplay including: Filial Play Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, Adlerian Play Therapy, and Family Play Therapy. Play therapy bibliotherapy resources, self-regulation techniques, and art interventions are also included for use individually with children or with their families. The goal of this training is to provide the play therapist with many intervention options to choose from as they show flexibility in moving from non-direct to direct interventions throughout a Teleplay session.

Objectives:

  1. Explain teleplay and benefits of teleplay therapy.
  2. Describe filial therapy to parents and materials needed.
  3. Select from play based interventions including: games, puppets, books, imagery, art, and mindfulness activities to use in teleplay therapy sessions.
  4. Assess from individual and family play based interventions to determine activities that meet the needs of your play therapy clients.
